2020 LETTER TO MEMBERS AND FRIENDS
Dear Members and Friends of Music and Art Center of Greene County,
The best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry. And so it is with this year – we worked, discussed and planned the summer concert series at Grazhda but unfortunately, the global pandemic has forced us to pivot. We have good news though: while the concerts will not take place at Grazhda, they will be available for viewing online. Our Artistic Director, Volodymyr Vynnytsky has arranged performances to be recorded by this year’s musical artists with links to those concerts available on our website: GrazhdaMusicandArt.org. Here is the virtual program we have planned:
July 11th – soprano Sofia Soloviy of Lviv, who recently had a triumphant run in the lead role of Rusalka with the Vienna State Opera.
July 18th – MACGC debut of violinist Vasyl Zacukh from Ukraine
August 1st – one of Grazhda’s most popular performers, virtuoso violinist Nazar Pylatiuk will perform with our incomparable MACGC artistic leadership, cellist Natalia Khoma and pianist Volodymyr Vynnytsky.
August 15th – violin recital by Nazar Pylatiuk
August 22nd – a performance by Heather Smith, cellist, and Cahill Smith, pianist of Utah State University.
In order to connect online, please send us your email address to email@example.com and make sure to follow us on Facebook: @musicandartcenter.
We will miss seeing you at Grazhda this summer, but the beautiful online concerts planned still unite us. We hope that you will renew your MACGC membership or are able to give a one-time donation in support of our work. It goes without saying that our summer courses are cancelled but we continue to be grateful for your loyalty and generous support.
During this challenging and uncertain time, we wish you and your loved ones good health. Take care. Listen to music. The year will pass quickly – until we see you again in 2021!
