2020 LETTERS TO MEMBERS AND FRIENDS
Dear Members and Friends of Music at Grazhda,
The last virtual Music at Grazhda concert for the 2020 summer series, which takes place Saturday, August 22, 2020 at 8 p.m., features the award-winning team Heather and Cahill Smith. Enjoy it!
Let me take this opportunity to thank everyone who made this virtual concert season possible: our artistic team Volodymyr Vynnytsky and Natalia Khoma, the world-class performers, the technical team – Hanya Krill-Pyziur, who put so much work and time maintaining the website and the concert videos mounteds by Bohdan Kokotaylo on the other side of the ocean.
But, most of all I want to thank you—our supporters and audience—from the bottom of my heart for your "attendance" and your moral and generous financial support. This support and your loyalty is heartwarming and made all this possible. It also strengthened our resolution to continue the Grazhda classical music series for your pleasure and inspiration.
So, until we meet at Grazhda next summer, please stay healthy and safe. Again, many thanks!
For the MACGC Board
2020 Letter from the MACGC Board of Directors
Dear Members and Friends of Music and Art Center of Greene County,
The best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry. And so it is with this year – we worked, discussed and planned the summer concert series at Grazhda but unfortunately, the global pandemic has forced us to pivot. We have good news though: while the concerts will not take place at Grazhda, they will be available for viewing online. Our Artistic Director, Volodymyr Vynnytsky has arranged performances to be recorded by this year’s musical artists with links to those concerts available on our website: GrazhdaMusicandArt.org. Here is the virtual program we have planned:
July 11, 2020 at 8 p.m.ET – Sofia Soloviy, soprano, and Natalia Pelekh, piano, both from Ukraine, will perform works by Mozart, Dvorak, Bortniansky, Sonevytsky and Skoryk.
July 18, 2020 at 8 p.m. – Vasyl Zatsikha and Friends (Ukraine-Switzerland)
August 1, 2020 at 8 p.m. – "Kyiv Trio": Nazar Pylatyuk, violin, Volodymyr Vynnytsky, piano, Natalia Khoma, cello, will perform works by Schubert and Vynnytsky.
August 15, 2020 at 8 p.m. – Nazar Pylatyuk, violin, Petro Dovhan, piano, Anton Supiha, guitar, will perform works by Bach, Wieniawski and Piazzolla.
August 22, 2020 at 8 p.m. ET – Cahill Smith, piano, and Heather Smith, cello, will perform works by Medtner, Myaskovsky and Rachmaninov.
In order to connect online, please send us your email address to firstname.lastname@example.org and make sure to follow us on Facebook: @musicandartcenter.
We will miss seeing you at Grazhda this summer, but the beautiful online concerts planned still unite us. We hope that you will renew your MACGC membership or are able to give a one-time donation in support of our work. It goes without saying that our summer courses are cancelled but we continue to be grateful for your loyalty and generous support.
During this challenging and uncertain time, we wish you and your loved ones good health. Take care. Listen to music. The year will pass quickly – until we see you again in 2021!
